I wanted to write this down while I was thinking about it. I almost didn’t make it, as a young kid, myself and a couple of friends had a way of sneaking into the pool at the University of Miami. But on this day we were caught and escorted off the premises.
So one of us came up with the idea to cruise neighborhood to find a pool that was vacant, crazy stuff. We found a home that was for sale and no one was living there, we were having a great time and I decided to put my legs on the edge of pool and lean back into the water.
What was I thinking that day? When I was running out of breath, I tried to pull myself up and could not.
I panicked and started struggling to get out of the water. I saw that bright light that people talk about when they are about to die. My friends were so busy having fun, they had no clue I was drowning.
Some how I was able to pull myself up and out of the water and I was so scared that I ran, hopped on my bike and rode the entire way home. My friends ran in pursuit after me. It was like I was shot out of a cannon and could not reach home fast enough.
Needless to say I never did that again.
